We put great effort into raising the healthiest Dubia roaches possible. We base our entire program on a serious ongoing dose of entomological research and empirical experience. This includes a great deal of effort put into creating a roach chow that facilitates maximum growth and optimum health.
After sensing early on that some foods produce healthier, stronger, and more productive Dubia roaches than others, and after reading all the tropical roach research we could find, we began methodically testing various ingredients to see how much of a health and productivity boost we could get from food alone. Little by little we started seeing changes, and after significant effort and a lot of experimentation, we’ve achieved big results. In light of what we’ve seen, we believe we produce the healthiest, most productive Dubia roaches money can buy.
Because they’re born and raised on nutritious foods with confirmed positive effects on their health, our Dubia roaches can be fed to your animals straight from the box. You don’t have to wonder whether or not they were well cared for or well fed. You don’t need to worry about what’s in their gut when they arrive at your doorstep. We boost our bottom line not by factory-style production but by boosting growth and production through superior health.
In addition to standard Dubia roaches we also offer organic Dubia roaches because we care about herp nutrition, and we believe organic Dubia roaches are superior feeder insects.
If the chemicals used in agriculture – including pesticides – aren’t good for people or roaches, then they aren’t good for amphibians, arachnids, or reptiles either. If you decide to buy standard roaches we recommend that you consider feeding them as many organic foods as you can prior to feeding them off to your animals. If this is not practical, consider being careful with the so-called “dirty dozen” foods – particularly apples, grapes, potatoes, and oranges. Oranges are not on the list but we had some bad experiences with pesticide-laden oranges early on. Wash everything thoroughly if you don’t buy organic.
We offer several guarantees, including same day shipping, live arrival, and a complete satisfaction guarantee on each purchase. These guarantees are not without limitation, and the conditions under which we offer them are detailed below.
Same Day Shipping
Orders placed by noon Pacific Time (3 PM Eastern) on regular shipping days are shipped that day. Orders placed after noon may and often do ship the same day, but we can’t promise that they will. It depends on several things, including how busy we are. If your order arrives after the cut-off time and we can ship it that day, we certainly will.
Shipping Schedule: Regular shipping days for live insects are Mondays through Wednesdays. However, we often ship Thursday and sometimes Friday. Shipping on non-regular shipping days is at our discretion and depends on things like distance to the destination, the weather forecast, and other factors that may affect delivery or the health of the roaches. We want your roaches and other insects to arrive alive and well and we make every effort to ensure that they do. Orders not shipped Thursday through Sunday will ship on Monday.
Our shipping policies are designed to avoid situations where insects are left unattended in hot or cold locations, such as they might be on a Sunday or holidays. However, if you want us to ship your order on a Thursday or Friday, write “Thursday/Friday shipping OK” in the message box at checkout. Please note that requesting shipping on non-shipping days may be risky, so live arrival will not be guaranteed.
Live Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee that the roaches you order from us will arrive alive and well when each of the Conditions below are met and subject to the Details and Limitations that follow. Though we do not guarantee live arrival when the following conditions are not met, we encourage everyone with a live arrival issue to contact us and describe the situation. Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to work something out.
- Temperature: Your local temperature must be between 40° and 90° F, as must the temperature en route. We do not guarantee live arrival when the temperature falls below 40° or rises above 90° F at any time while the package is in transit either (a) in the delivery zip code, or (b) at any location listed in the package tracking history. While heat and cold packs are usually effective at keeping roaches and other insects alive during shipment in extreme temperatures, they do not eliminate risk and are not a guarantee against loss.
- Delivery: The package must be accepted. Refusing delivery will void our Live Arrival Guarantee.
- Regular Shipping Days: The package must be shipped on a regular shipping day, which is Monday through Wednesday, or on a non-regular shipping day (Thursday through Saturday) at our discretion. Packages shipped on non-regular shipping days at the customer’s request are not covered by our Live Arrival Guarantee.
- Documentation: The condition of the roaches at the time of arrival must be clearly documented with video or digital photographs. These must be emailed to us within two hours of receipt of the package, which is the delivery time indicated on the carrier’s tracking system.
Details and Limitations: Insects shipped as replacements under our Live Arrival Guarantee are not shipped free or charge. We charge either (a) a fee of $7 per order to cover the cost of re-shipment or (b) actual shipping costs if they are greater than $7. Replacements are shipped via USPS regardless of the initial shipping method unless we agree to other arrangements. Our Live Arrival Guarantee applies to original orders only, and there is a limit of one live arrival claim per order. This means we do not guarantee the live arrival of insects that are shipped as replacements under our Live Arrival Guarantee. When a customer makes a claim under our Live Arrival Guarantee, they assume all the risk of shipping replacement insects. No guarantees of live arrival of replacement insects are offered or implied, and no refunds shall be provided.
Instructions for Live Arrival Claims
Email your video or photographs and a description of the situation along with your name and order details. We will reply within one business day.
We want to be the number one supplier of Dubia roaches online, so we work hard to get and keep your business. We think that comes through in the quality of our roaches and the service we offer our customers. If there is ever a problem with an order, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to fix it.
Complete Satisfaction Guarantee
In addition to standing behind our products, we offer a complete satisfaction guarantee on every order. This means that if you’re unhappy with your order for any reason you may return it to us in original condition for a refund, minus the cost of shipping.
Within a reasonable time you may even return live roaches that you bought from us for a pro-rated refund. If you buy 50 Dubia roaches, for example, and decide you want to return them after feeding 25 to your animals, you may send the 25 back to us and we may refund up to half the cost of the roaches. To return live roaches, please follow the return instructions below and do not ship anything to us before receiving instructions.
To return items you’re unhappy with, including roaches and partial orders, contact us via email. Identify your order by order number or name and date, describe (a) what you want to return and (b) the condition of the item(s) to be returned, and wait for a reply from us. Please don’t ship anything before receiving instructions.

My roaches arrived and they aren’t moving. What should I do?
See our live arrival guarantee instructions and contact us right away. Then set the roaches aside in a warm area for an hour and see what happens. As strange as it sounds, they may come back to life. Insects sometime survive exposure to extreme temperatures. Although they may not be moving and look dead by all appearances, they may actually be alive.
Do you ship to Florida?
Yes, but only to those with a state-issued permit. Otherwise, shipping Dubia Roaches to Florida is illegal. Contact us if you have a permit and would like to place an order.
Do you give your Dubia roaches any supplements?
No. We give them a well-balanced diet. All the vitamins and minerals they need are in the grains, fruits, and vegetables they eat. If you want your animals to get extra vitamins like Vitamin A or minerals like calcium, you should gutload or dust with a vitamin or calcium powder.
My order isn’t here and tracking says “delivered”. What should I do?
First check to see if the package was left in an unusual place, or if your neighbors may have picked it up by accident. Then contact the carrier. They can often figure out if they made an error.
Do you overstock orders?
Yes. Although death during transit is uncommon, we overstock all roach orders by about 10% just in case.
Why are Dubia roaches so expensive?
It’s a supply and demand issue. They’re expensive compared to other feeder insects right now but we’re working to change that.
Do you ship to Hawaii?
Not at this time. It seems that the process is long and involves permitting and lengthy quarantines. However, if you have knowledge on the matter and our understanding is wrong, let us know.
