In-depth information
As usual, our standard Dubia roach feeder description applies to 1-¼ inchers. They are super nutritious, highly gut loadable, and easy to keep and feed. Animals tend to love them, feeding them off is fun, and so on.
And at about 1 gram each, they’re on the large side. Their significant bulk comes from four months of non-stop gorging on nutritious foods. You may have noticed that we’re slightly obsessed with roach breeding and nutrition. We feed our Dubia nymphs so well that some people find it, shall we say, a bit curious.
But our significant efforts pay off in the quality of our nymph feeders and adult breeders. Our 1-¼-inch Dubia roaches contain more of the good stuff animals need and less of the bad stuff they don’t. They are high in protein and other beneficial nutrients relative to other feeders.
One notable thing about 1-¼ inchers is that you can gut-load them to the extreme. At this size and larger, they can fill their empty stomachs with up to twice their body weight of food. When you give them healthy foods, these roaches become nutrition delivery machines. In return, your animal(s) will thank you with strong feeding behavior and good health.
All in all, Dubia roaches are outstanding feeders. Customers have told us their animals go crazy when our roaches arrive. We love to hear this, and it makes sense given the effort we put into raising healthy roaches.
In sum, 1-¼ inch Dubia roaches are large feeders for medium and large insectivores. They provide excellent nutrition that you can boost even further with gut loading, and they have all the right moves to trigger even the most discerning animal’s feeding response.
Item specific sizing notes
- With 1-¼ inchers, some size variation is normal.
- Roaches are larger or smaller depending on hydration and feeding status. When necessary, alter their length by providing or withholding food.
- Feed these roaches or gut load them a day or two before feeding them off to reach their full size.

Nice quality Dubia roaches. Very active and they appear fat and healthy. Shipped fast and there were no DOAs even in winter. I’m very happy with my order and plan on ordering more.
