Kick-start your Dubia roach breeding project with currently breeding female Dubia roaches. They can reduce the time to establish a colony by up to 70 days compared to newly emerged females, which is a time reduction of almost 40%.
New Dubia roach colonies need a significant amount of time to become established. Under ideal conditions, it can take four to six months for new nymphs born in a colony to begin producing offspring of their own. This long wait is due in part to the fact that new adult females take around 70 days to produce their first batch of nymphs.
However, you can reduce or eliminate this wait time with existing female breeders.
Our Breeding Female Dubia Roaches come straight from our breeding colonies. As such, they will be at various stages of the breeding process. They are full-grown adults, measuring between one and 1.5 inches in length. Statistically speaking, most are at some stage of pregnancy. We select them randomly to make sure this is the case.
Based on a lifespan of two years and a time to maturity of four months, you can expect an average of 10 to 12 months of breeding from these females. This is plenty of time to establish a new Dubia roach colony. In this time, many new roach generations can reach maturity and produce offspring of their own. Once a colony reaches critical mass, new adults and nymphs emerge daily.
A Note About Female Dubia Roach Care
Adult female Dubia roaches, particularly those that are heavy and gravid, benefit from special care after they are shipped. The best thing for them when they arrive is plenty of moisture-rich fruits and vegetables, along with a dark, warm environment. Shipping stresses Dubia roaches in general, and pregnant females tend to handle stress poorly than most. When they arrive, try to give them at least 24 hours to chill out.
